Apisalome Waqatabu Baleinatauba

Apisalome Waqatabu Baleinatauba is an accomplished ICT professional with over 28 years of progressive experience in the ICT sector across Fiji and Vanuatu. His core competencies span IT systems management, network administration, cybersecurity, and project leadership. He currently serves as the ICT Services Manager at the Vanuatu Institute of Technology, where he oversees departmental strategy, budgeting, infrastructure planning, and capacity development.

Apisalome has held various key positions including IT Manager, Systems Engineer, Project Manager, and Senior ICT Trainer. In these roles, he led complex projects such as data center deployments, backup systems upgrades, and IT training program development. His technical expertise includes managing Windows and Linux systems, VMware virtualization, Cisco networks, Microsoft Exchange, and enterprise security tools including Fortinet and ESET.

He holds advanced certifications in IT, project management, and cybersecurity, including a Certificate IV in Cyber Security and Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA). As a seasoned project manager, he has successfully delivered multi-year IT projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives, risk management, and stakeholder engagement.

Apisalome also plays a pivotal role in ICT education and curriculum development in Vanuatu, contributing nationally recognized qualifications and serving as Chairman of VIT’s Course Development Steering Committee for the Diploma in Electrical Engineering and Diploma in Bio Medical Engineering Program. He is also an accredited ICDL invigilator, supporting the delivery and assessment of the ICDL program at VIT - an ICDL Accredited Test Centre in alignment with international standards.
